Here she is in her First Day of School outfit that she picked out herself. It was cold and windy - 58F - when we left the house. I dropped her off, hugged her, said goodbye and she was on her own. Whoooooooooooooooo! Our little Jenna is in school!
When I picked her up, she was jubilant and excited and couldn't wait to go back to school the next school day. But when she got home, it was hard to get as much out of her as we'd have liked. She just wanted to cuddle and wind down and have lunch. We did find out, though, that she
- drew a picture of a flower (that she brought home)
- talked about the weather (cloudy and rainy)
- played at the sand table
- played out in the playground (and it was coooooollllldddd!)
- had goldfish and raisins and apple juice at snack time
- celebrated her classmate's birthday who didn't bring cupcakes
- looked at and talked about her baby photo that she was asked to bring to school
- has three teachers
- sang many songs, including "Elephants Have Wrinkles"
- had one of her teachers give her a "start zip", after which she zipped her jacket up all by herself
All that from someone who didn't really want to talk about her first day of preschool. Imagine what we'd have found out if she were in a more loquacious mood!
Tomorrow: Emily's first day of kindergarten! And her bus ride to school!
