We're organizing kid art this week. Some of it is school art and some is art done at home -usually at the kitchen table, but also on many other surfaces in the house. In the process of sorting, we're taking photos. These photos will preserve the colors while they are still fresh and unfaded by the sun when the pictures are stuck on walls for display. They also serve as a means to save versions of artwork that are too large to keep or display and have to be thrown away.
We will share some of those photos on the blog in the next few posts.
This first one was by Kate, late last year, when she began to be very interested in drawing. We taught her that sometimes, we drew from pictures in our heads, and other times we drew by copying what we saw. So one evening, Kate got out her color pencils, stared at this section of our living room
and drew her version of it:
The three little trees on the table were wooden Christmas trees that were part of our advent decor. I love that her picture captured a particular season in our year!
