See how you've grown in just one year!
And what a wonderful year it's been! Just in the last month
alone, you've learnt to walk backwards, climb down the stairs,
rummage in the trash, drop objects into containers, use
chairs to get at forbidden objects in out-of-reach places,
point at noses and hold tissue paper to our faces when we
say "blow your nose." You bring your shoes to us when it's
time to go gallivanting, your canister of cheese puffs when
it's time for a snack, and make a beeline for the bathroom
when it's time for your bath. You don't like being rocked to
sleep or held as much as you like to be laid in your crib
and your back vigorously patted. Lullabies are wasted on you
because you think all music is to be danced to. You do a mean
spot-and-turn that can put practised dancers to shame.
You love sippy cups and blueberries. You prefer eating off the
floor than from your tray. You still like chewing doll heads.
You've finally begun (again) to sleep through the night (thank
you!). You love running outside in our backyard and stomping
around on our deck. When you feel like it, you can say
"mama", "dad", "there", "night-night", "done", "bye" and "ball".
You think it is the funniest thing in the world to dance on
beds and wake your sisters up by pulling their blankets off
and sitting on their necks. Your giggle is the sweetest
sound. Your cry is heart-breaking. Your smile is contagious.
How thrilled we are that you are ours! We love you so much!
