Jenna has finally almost recovered from her cold but Emily and Kate have begun theirs.
And - get this - all three children are teething. Here's how we figured that out:
Kate has, for the past month, been drooling and gumming on everything she can lay her hands on. She's almost 6 months old, so she's right on time.
Jenna, our family's perpetual teether, is, well, teething again. At least according to her, digging in her mouth and saying "yes" when asked if her teeth hurt.
Emily has begun that transition from baby to adult teeth. At her dental appointment today, the dentist found that her two front teeth were loose. We'd known for a while that she had an extra adult incisor that was threatening to erupt together with the normal two adult incisors. But not till she was maybe 8. That's twice her lifetime. Today, though, he said those two baby teeth would fall out over the next few months. I can just see her singing, "All I want for Christmas is my three front teeth" and meaning it.
